Version 6.0
FS2KDT60.ZIP is identical to FS2KDT50, except it contains
corrected ATIS frequencies. Thanks to Pete Hoek for pointing out
the error at KIAH (Houston Intercontinental). ISEC MARGY was
added also, located near Paris, France. Please refer to readme.txt
for a quick installation guide.
Previous wording for FS2KDT40/FS2KDT50:
This archive has these corrections/additions:
1. I neglected to add one little file, Magdec.bgl, found in the Flight Simulator
2000 (FS2000) Scenery folder, to the previous databases. This
oversight has been corrected, and should tell FSNav the correct
magnetic variation. The previous databases worked also, but FSNav
didn't have magnetic variation information for itself to work
with. Now it will.
2. New for this release: Markers and ATIS data have been added.
At times the ATIS runway information might have an occasional
missing L or R, but the wind components should be correct. For
FSNav purposes, the frequency as published by the AFD files, will
be the same. This will enable you to "drag" the
frequency to the COM1 box in FSNav. If you're in range, you
should then see and hear the ATIS information for the airport you
selected it for. Due to SCASM limitations, only ATIS frequencies
at or above 118.00 MHz and at or below 137.00 MHz were included.
3. The fix information for this release is from fsnavfix.zip,
also downloadable at Helge
Schroeder's website (below). Sorry to those who requested
that other FIX zip files be used. FSNAVFIX.ZIP is copyrighted by Leland Steffensen (c) 1999.
Version FS2KDT60 and earlier versions were released because of
Helge Schroeder's marvelous update to FSNav to version 3.0.
You can download FSNav 3.0 & FSNAVFIX.ZIP here:
http://fstools.simflight.de
These databases ARE NOT compatible with FSNav ver 2.3!!! You MUST
have FSNav version 3.0 installed, in the FS2000 Modules folder
like this:
FSNav.dll Modules folder
Fs2k.000 Modules\FSNavigator (My file number 1)
Fs2k.001 Modules\FSNavigator (My file number 2)
FSNav.isu Modules folder
FSNavDBC.exe Modules\FSNavigator
Note: The latter two files ARE NOT REQUIRED for FSNav to run
properly.
Quick installation.
Thanks to Alan White for this procedure to install FSNav 3.0
without having FS98 installed:
1. Unzip the FSNav files into a temporary directory.
2. Run Setup.exe
3. Set the installation file path to c:\FS2000 (or whatever) and
carry on from there.
4. When FSNav 3.0 is installed, extract fs2kdt60.zip into
<Your FS2000 Folder>\Modules\FSNavigator.
5. Run FS2000.
6. Hit <F9>
7. FSNav Menu (under FS2000 menu): Options/Scenery Open/FS2K
World/OK.
That should do it.

Thanks again Alan!
After more than 100 hours of programming I have managed, at last,
to create and improve my previous upload, which included runways
and ILS data for FS2K, using the data from the FS2K AFD files,
and of course the supplied VOR and NDB files (decompressed when
necessary). The intersection data is from already existing and
downloadable FIX BGL files.
What is contained in this ZIP archive:
FS2K.000 These are the database files for FSNavigator,
FS2K.001 including Runways & ILS information.
FS2K.CDB Removed. There is currently a problem with Super Flight
Planner and FS2000, and, people wanted a smaller file to download.
Additional note. Renaming of these filenames is NOT required.
These databases were meant to replace world.000 and world.001
from the previous author who had made databases, but had no
runways or ILS data. If you want to use that author's data, go
ahead. But don't rename his files either.
All the above were created using newly created bgl files that
contain runway and ILS information. Perhaps in the next release,
I'll include marker & taxiway information as well. Markers,
Taxiways and other Scenery is not included.
For this version (3.0), the following has been changed/added:
1. All the NAVAIDS that were missing from the fs2kdt10.zip should
be present now.
2. The runway headings have been adjusted to aircraft position
heading, rather that the actual heading information given for the
runway. This should properly adjust the runway to compensate for
magnetic variation. In some cases, there was NO setup position
for some runways. In this case, I used the true heading and
adjusted for magnetic variation.
3. Thanks to Sascha Felix for enlightening me on the new ILS BGL
conventions. They're included in the database as supplied by
Microsoft, decompressed when necessary, and modified in order to
read them with FSNav 3.0
I have found, more often than not, that the data in the FS2000
AFD files have considerable errors, but evidently not noticable
in FS2000's own mapping routine. Remember, that all the runway
data was derived from the FS2K AFD files, directly. So some
errors could exist upwards to around 15%, after compensation as
explained above. But for the purpose of flight planning with
FSNavigator, this is close enough.
